Portable FID Analyzer for Periodic Emission Measurements

In the case of emission measurements for total hydrocarbons, a FID analyzer is used. Accurate measurement requires a high-quality FID monitor. For periodic emission measurements, it is desirable that the advanced FID remains compact and portable, as it is frequently moved between different measurement locations. For CxHy emission measurements, compliance with EN12619 is, of course, required.

Analyzer Features

The Polaris FID-SE meets all these requirements. This is a compact, portable FID analyzer, TÜV certified according to EN12619. It offers great convenience for mobile technicians, primarily due to two key features:

  1. Built-in batteries: The FID can be heated and stabilized while connected to power in the lab or measurement vehicle. Once ready to measure, the device can temporarily be used without external power thanks to its batteries, which maintain temperature stability. Measurements can begin immediately at the next site. Short measurements can even be performed entirely on battery power.
  2. Use of a metal hydride cartridge for hydrogen supply to the flame: There is no need to bring hydrogen gas cylinders to the measurement site. The Polaris uses a metal hydride cartridge that replaces the conventional hydrogen cylinder. A fully charged cartridge provides sufficient hydrogen for up to 30 hours of operation. For longer measurements, the cartridge can be easily swapped during use or an external cylinder can be connected.

This FID analyzer can measure up to 100,000 mgC/Nm3, making it ideal not only for emission monitoring but also for process measurements and efficiency checks.
