Custom Multipoint Sampling System

In some applications, it is desirable to take samples from multiple measuring points for analysis in a gas analyzer. Ravebo B.V. has already delivered various systems for this purpose. In practice, the number of sampling points ranged from 2 to 7. Gas analyzers such as FTIR or FID are used for process and emission measurements as heated analyzers. The gas is supplied and analyzed at a temperature above the dew point. When switching between multiple measuring points, several challenges arise:

Fast Response Time

Long suction lines can result in excessive response time. We solve this by installing additional sampling pumps that continuously draw gas from those points. From there, a short line is used to reach the analyzer.

Leak-tight Switching and Valves Are Essential:

A major risk when using multiple sampling lines is leakage in the system, which leads directly to inaccurate gas analysis. For heated systems, we use special high-quality valves that are resistant to high temperatures and remain leak-tight, even with temperature fluctuations and extreme temperatures.

Switching System and Optional Additional Sampling Pumps Must Operate at a Constant Temperature Above the Dew Point:

Any risk of cold spots must be eliminated.

Sampling Will Take Place from Multiple Points. Multiple Heated Lines and Probes Must Be Connected:

All components should ideally be temperature-controlled and monitored. For this, we integrate a heating controller for each component.

Safety Measures Must Be Built In in Case of System Failure:

We usually program the system to perform specific actions in case of malfunction, or provide custom outputs so that customers can integrate them into their own systems.

The System Must Be Operable Both Manually and/or Automatically:

For mobile applications, manual switching between measuring points is often sufficient. For fixed installations, more automation and external control is desired. We can integrate both options.

Enclosure:

Sampling often takes place outdoors and near production processes or emission points. A proper enclosure is crucial for performance and safety (e.g., IP54). Our team has the necessary expertise to design and build control cabinets and possesses extensive knowledge and experience in the field of gas sampling!
