Application Areas

Ravebo specializes in the supply, installation, and servicing of sampling and analysis equipment for measuring gases and dust. Our measurement systems are available in portable, mobile, and stationary configurations.

Based on process data or environmental conditions, the desired output, and the practical situation at your location, we can configure a complete analyzer system. We consider the most suitable analysis techniques, sampling conditioning, and data acquisition.

Trained and experienced field service engineers can install and commission the systems for you. Thanks to this “turn-key” concept, you can trust that your equipment will be properly installed, connected, and operational. This ensures you have a single point of contact for your analyzer or detection system project.

We are happy to carry out periodic preventive maintenance and necessary calibrations or support you during annual tests and validations. In our well-equipped workshops, we have everything needed to perform the required services. For stationary analysis and detection systems, we naturally operate on-site.

Environmental Monitoring

In dust and gas measurements for emission determination, the following applications are common:

  • Taking representative samples for laboratory analysis;
  • Extractive online gas analysis;
  • Inline dust measurement.

Dust Sampling

The most well-known application for taking representative samples in emissions is the standard reference method for dust measurement. A composite sample is taken on a filter under isokinetic conditions, and the dust concentration and possible elemental concentrations are determined in the lab. Ravebo is a recognized supplier of equipment for these sampling tasks. We supply the appropriate equipment for all applicable European standards for dust and gas emission sampling.

Gas Sampling

For various gas measurements, the reference method involves sampling over absorbent material followed by laboratory analysis. If gases appear as or are bound to aerosols, isokinetic sampling is required, just like with dust. The setup for dust sampling often includes the absorption medium for gas sampling in series or uses a separate sample line drawing from the isokinetic line. Thus, dust and gas samples are collected simultaneously. Ravebo supplies and maintains all pumps, probes, and accessories compliant with European standards for these applications.

Online Gas and Dust Analysis

Gas concentrations in emissions can often be measured online. For periodic permit-related measurements, portable equipment is usually preferred for convenience in the field. Preferably, the gas analyzer too, although certified portable analyzers are not always available for all applications.

Continuous emission monitoring typically requires a CEMS. These are fully certified systems for continuous emission registration. CEMS are available for both gas and dust measurements. Certified inline probes for dust measurements are available that work on optical or tribo-electric principles and can continuously register dust emissions.

Ravebo advises, integrates, supplies, and maintains components and systems for both periodic measurements by environmental labs and permanent CEMS setups (Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems).

Process Control and Optimization

In process control and R&D applications, real-time data on gas concentrations, dust levels, particle characteristics, and more are often required. These measurements are not subject to the same certifications as environmental monitoring but must be accurate or well-correlated with the intended analysis.

Sometimes, simple gas or dust detection or a non-certified analysis system may provide sufficient insight for process monitoring or optimization. In other cases, no standard solution or setup exists.

For all these applications, we combine existing products and technologies for sampling and analysis, or we design and manufacture custom equipment for the specific use case—such as dilution systems, drying units, or heated sampling pump systems.

Safety and Health

A well-known application in production environments is stationary gas and dust detection. This ensures worker safety by monitoring exposure to gases, vapors, or dust.

We can be your partner for supplying, installing, and commissioning detection and monitoring systems for exposure to gases and dust. Such systems often consist of several monitors in a network or transmitters controlled and powered by one or more controllers. For safety, alarm systems are essential.
